My name is Mrs. Jennifer Irizarry.
I’m 30, a nurse, currently a flight attendant, a hospitality extraordinaire, chef, mixologist, blogger, gardening fanatic, photographer, and loving wife to Michael Irizarry AKA ‘Superman’. We are dog parents to our spoiled French Bulldog Mel, and the newest member of our family, Gracie, an Alaskan Klee Kai puppy.
After I graduated nursing school in NC in 2007, I abruptly moved back to Florida to embrace what was left behind from my childhood. Salt water, fresh fish, mangrove filled islands, plenty of sunshine, and mild surfing days. Somewhere in my late twenites, when my world was spinning so fast I couldn’t keep my feet on the ground, I met Mike. We admired each other from a distance while working in the hospitality industry in Miami Beach. We started our love story September 25th, 2013 at Meat Market on Lincoln Rd. That was the day that changed both of our lives forever. We married July 15, 2014 and celebrated our wedding in Costa Rica with our friends and family April 14, 2015. Last year our wedding was featured in Destination Wedding and Honeymoon Magazine March/April edition 2016. Currently, we are living in Dallas, Texas. A stop on our journey to our dream of wide open spaces and homesteading.
We are both passionate about spreading the word about corporate America poisoning our food and environment. Jenn’s Farm Table is Farm-To-Table recipe blog that puts an emphasis on eating fresh, local, organic, unprocessed foods. I share recipes that are simple to make, delicious and healthy. Low and slow style recipes, one pot meals, and beautifully handcrafted pies for the modern world are some of my blog’s highlights.
The focus of my brand is to support local farmers, artisans, chefs and small businesses in my community by sourcing my ingredients directly from them. My vision is to share the importance of knowing where your food comes from and the health benefits of eating in season. The more I can spread the word about the Farm-To-Table movement, (particularly to millenials like myself), the better chance we stand of creating a sustainable future for the next generation. What sense does it make to fertilize our food with toxic chemicals that harm us and our planet, stripping the ground of natural elements? Mistreating animals for money, resulting in poor quality (and tasting) meats. I believe that knowledge is power and understanding that even the smallest, simplest daily changes can make such a huge difference in your quality of life. Eating organic can be affordable, I’d like to show you how. 🙂
My husband’s passion for health and fitness makes him my number one fan! He never complains when I spend all day slow roasting a 10 pound pork shoulder. Or if I make 16 paleo cupcake trials. His love and support inspires me every single day and I am very appreciative to have him in my life.
Honeymoon in Tuscany, Rome, and Ravello, Italy.
Thank you for visiting Jenn’s Farm Table. I hope you stay awhile and continue to find inspiration to cook up a happy and healthy life! XO – Jenn 🙂
